YANG QIAO ER is a jolly and easy-going club-girl. In order to quit her so-called public relation work, she plans to find a man and settle down. When she is talking marriage with her boyfriend LAW, her real identity is exposed and she is recognized by LAW's parents as a social butterfly. QIAO ER's dream of marriage shatters. She intends to commit suicide as an act of protest. Yet she is not courageous enough to taste the bitterness of death. QIAO ER meets CONCUBINE GIN when she reaches heaven. They become very good friends. Under GIN's guidance, QIAO ER comes to realize the meaning of life and death. In order to win the opportunity of rebirth, she has to do good. KE ER faces the crisis of poverty after her sister's death. She is nearly homeless for she has not a dime to pay the rent. QIAO ER is like an ant on the boiling pan since now she is a ghost, she cannot lend a helping hand.
